What is

OCPD?

OCPD is a type of personality disorder which characteristics are:

  • A rigid adherence to rules

  • A overwhelming need of order

  • The things should be done by them in their certainly way

  • Everything has its place to be and it need to be always there

  • They want to keep everything even when it is not used.

 

Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder has to be taken seriously, this people tend to work alone and only by their way to get thing done, it has to

be perfectly done. If something goes wrong they go crazy, because all that little things that the most people doesn't care; they do, and so much.

Because of their perfectionism sometimes they cannot get things done due to is not correctly done and something is missing, it can't be done if is not perfect in their way.

They think that only they know how to get things done and they have this problem with giving responsabilities to others, they simply cannot give part of their job to other people.

One of the sadest things of OCPD is that it interferes with interpersonal life.

All that we know is  that there's no specific cause for this illness. But there are some theories.

One of them is that may be caused by parents who

were unavailable and either overly controlling or overly protective. This causes that the kid want to be perfect or perfectly correct.
