Today i wanna talk about kindness inspired on a book that I recently read: "Alice y la mosca" or Alice and the Fly. And I wanted to write this in english, because it is a great way for practice to not forget.

I've been a little inactive lately but I wanna change that, I'm out of school, summer vacation and I wanna do something for good. So my list of habits/activities for this summer are:

-Training a LOT

-Waking up 6AM to seize the day

-Practice and learn piano songs

-Work

-Being more social active/learn social skills

-Practice social skills

-Be nicer to people

-Be humble

This way I will look at this list in case I forget something.

So, first i would like to talk a little bit of the book.

This is my goodreads review:

This is a book that takes its time to catch you on the reading, the ending is WOW, i was shocked (kind of i'm still in shock haha).

It is truly worth the wait to know what is going on and for me the reading it was a little slow and kinda hard, I took a lot more time that I would like to, and sometimes I had to re-read the whole chapter to know what was going on, it plays a lot with timelines so you can get lost easily. This book made me think a lot. Until the end I understood why the book's title and what happened to Greg. The thing that I would stand out of the book is one word: Kindness. I think a lot in this: "Caras vemos, corazones no sabemos" which it can be translated to we look at the surface but we don't know what's happening inside. I can't stop thinking that treating right and be nice to people is something that everybody should do everyday. We don't know when we can find someone who need us and we can do good for humanity.

Kindness, according to the oxford dictionary:

"The quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate."

It seems like something easy and maybe stupid to think that someone can't be nice with people. But there's a lot of people out there being suck an assholes and treating us like sh*t. But today I'll give you an opportunity to be kind and nice, at least to one person or for 1 minute, but it sould be every time with anyone.

Open your eyes, ears and all your senses and perceive people in need so you can help them, maybe they're studying something you know very well and they may be stuck and your help could give them happiness. Even smile to other people you cross on the street, opening doors, helping to carry some bags from the supermarket, there're infinite possibilities and opportunities to be kind.

"Kindness is also about telling the truth in a gentle way when doing so is helpful to the other person. Receiving accurate feedback in a loving and caring way is an important part of a trusted relationship. The courage to give and receive truthful feedback is a key component of growth and flexible thinking." this is from psychologytoday.com in THIS link.

Richard Schiffman says in his New York Times publication that kindness has been introduced to preschoolers and they appear to have benefits by practicing kindness "Research led by the clinical psychologist Lisa Flook has shown that youngsters who received the kindness training become more altruistic in tests that measured their willingness to share with others. It also strengthened children’s ability to focus and modestly boosted their academic performance." (Schiffman, 2017).

What if everybody could help one person? that person will know how good it feels to be helped and this person would want to help someone else and there's a chain of kindness created.

Lets color our world with kindness, i'm sure it will be a better place like that...
